The last decade has seen a rapid increase in the use of digital technologies to tackle social and environmental challenges. The current Covid-19 pandemic has exponentially increased this speed even further and we see many examples of how tech is used to innovate and improve people’s lives. Digital Social Innovation is likely to be more relevant than ever before in our currently socially distanced world.
Digital Social Innovation brings together people and digital technologies to tackle social and environmental challenges. The British innovation foundation Nesta has been working with this field and its ecosystem for a long time, supporting it to grow and scale across Europe. Peter Baeck, Head of Nesta’s Centre for Collective Intelligence Design, has led Nesta's research on Digital Social Innovation and his work covers the role of digital technologies in public and social innovation, crowdfunding, smart cities, the collaborative economy and public innovation labs. Last year, he launched the European Digital Social Innovation Index with Nesta, an index that measures how well different urban ecosystems across the EU support the creation, growth and sustainability of Digital Social Innovation initiatives.
Welcome to a webinar where Peter Baeck shares his knowledge and perspectives on how human and machine intelligence can be combined to solve social challenges.
The webinar will be recorded and published in MSIs social media channels.
